Lauren Katz - MA, BCBA, ESE Teacher | Educational/Behavior Director
Lauren Katz is a Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA). She has been practicing Applied Behavior Analysis since 2003. Lauren first learned about ABA while studying psychology during her senior year at Tulane University. From there she moved to New York and worked as an ABA therapist at an early intervention center. This is where she fell in love with this field and wanted to continue her education. Lauren then went to Teacher’s College at Columbia University where she received her Masters in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis.
While pursuing her Masters, she worked in several different schools for children with autism or other disabilities. During this time, she was promoted to Head Teacher. Upon graduation, she held a supervisory position at a newly established private ABA school for children with autism.
Lauren has developed programs in the classroom, center, and home using ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, AFLS and Essentials for Living. She has developed behavior intervention plans for various inappropriate and severe behaviors. Lauren is also a Professional Crisis Management (PCM) Instructor who trains the staff at Crystal Academy on crisis interventions.
In 2014, Lauren joined the Crystal Academy team and now oversees the daily behavior and ABA programs for all students in the school. She also conducts parent training, staff training, and collaboration between home and school.
